Ralphy's Story
Alfie was picked up as a stray after being hit by a car. He had no broken bones but lots of lacerations, abrasions, tooth fractures and bruises. He went to Palo Alto Animal Services. He was very scared of people and especially hands. No one came looking for this cute little guy. The staff at PAAS felt that Alfie needed to be in a situation where he could learn to trust hands and people. He is neutered, current with his vaccinations including influenza, is micro-chipped and ia healthy. He is a sweet little guy with other small dogs. He is learning to be kind with cats but he is not there yet! He loves to go for walks and to curl up beside you or on your lap. People who may be interested in meeting Alfie must understand that right now, Alfie must set the pace of contact with him. Pushing him to accept someone only sets him back and makes him more scared. Once he gives his trust to you, you can cuddle, hold and pet him.
