Gabrielle's Story
Gabrielle was found as a stray in the Gilroy area. It was really clear that she had been out on her own for quite a while and was not treated very well before that. She was very matted, covered in fleas and dirty!!! She was also very skinny and was very scared!!! She was taken to the San Martin Shelter. The shelter staff shaved her down and got rid of all the dreadlocks, foxtails and fleas. With gentle hands and guidance, Gaby is coming out of her shell. She is house-trained and is used to sleeping in a crate. She can be a real sweetheart but startles easily and then tends to nip when scared but her personality is changing day by day. She walks well on leash especially if there is another dog that she trusts and she rides well in her crate in the car. When she is happy, she bounces like she's on a pogo stick! Gaby wants to have her person that she can trust. She needs time to get her confidence back. She is looking for a gentle family with no young children. Is that your family??
