Bo's Story
In March, ten year old Bo was seen staggering along the side of a road and taken to the San Martin Shelter in Gilroy. Two days later, Bo couldn't use his legs. He was diagnosed with a neurotoxin poisoning such as botulism and was treated with antibiotics and pain meds. Since then, he has slowly been making progress with regaining the use of his legs. The staff at the shelter called Bo their miracle dog and so he is. When he first came to CIW he was still pretty shaky on his legs but he was soon moving easily around the yard and running slowly. Within the week, he was walking up and down the block in front of his foster home. He has been playing with the other dogs and with a ball. He now climbs up and down the stairs into and out of the house and comes in and out through the dog door. He has the sweetest disposition although his feet are still sensitive to touch. Bo gets along with other dogs and loves people but he does guard his food bowl and ball. He is still improving almost every day.
