Companions in Waiting success stories
Zelda
Two and a half year old Zelda was a very scared little dog when she was surrendered by her family to a local shelter. We don't know why she was surrendered but we do know that the shelter setting scared her. The shelter staff did what they could for her but they realized that she needed more so they called CIW to see if we could bring Zelda into our program. It took time for Zelda to learn that she could trust people but when she trusted you, she trusted you with her whole being. We learned that she loved children. She is an angel when being groomed with a trusted groomer. She loved to play ball and she is absolutely terrified at being handed head first to someone she doesn't know. But we do know that Zelda is willing to trust on her time so when a Dad came looking for a companion dog to join his family, we wanted to see how she would be with the young boys in the family. It was remarkable. Zelda had found her family. Now she has 3 boys to play and grow up with and a Mom and Dad to take care of them all.
