Companions in Waiting success stories
Trixie
In 2013, two young, little, dogs came to CIW. One had been found walking the streets in a Central Valley town and the other had been rescued from a trucking yard in East Palo Alto with her Mom. Both seemed to be about the same age, were dirty, matted, and covered in fleas. One was very shy and the other was very outgoing. When they met it was as if two long lost friends had reconnected. Trixie (the shy one) gained confidence and learned to play from Lulu (the outgoing one). Lulu found a play buddy and felt secure with Trixie. The two girls needed to stay together. So began the search for the perfect family for these two wonderfully sweet girls. Many people asked about one girl but not the other and were not able to have two dogs. The wait took a long time but as they say, the best things come to those who wait and so it was for Trixie and Lulu. Along came a couple who were looking for two dogs to join their family since there were two laps available. When they met, Trixie got into her new Mom's lap and was set to stay there forever! Lulu found that her new Dad loved to throw the ball for her to chase! What could be more perfect! Even the resident dog approved of his new young sisters! A thumbs up all the way around. Many happy years to you all!!!
